Manager, HIPAA Privacy

Our continued growth has created an opportunity to join our TAG Compliance team as a Manager, HIPAA Privacy.


Under the supervision of The Aspen Group’s (“TAG’s”) Director, HIPAA Privacy and Compliance, the Manager, HIPAA Privacy is responsible for facilitating the HIPAA Privacy Program across TAG and the brands it supports including, but not limited to daily operations of the HIPAA Privacy program, development and implementation of policies and procedures, investigation and tracking of incidents and breaches and ensuring patients’ rights in compliance with federal and state laws.


Essential Responsibilities:

· Assist in the development of a strategic and comprehensive privacy program that defines, develops, maintains, and implements policies and processes.

· Ensures forms, policies, standards, and procedures are up to date and implemented.

· Supports, maintains, and continuously improves TAG’s privacy program, including but not limited to tracking, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting.

· Diligently responds to and investigates privacy incidents.

· Leads and/or supports privacy investigations, documentation, and reporting processes working closely with relevant stakeholders to address and mitigate any potential risks.

· Collaborates with the Information Security team to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, investigations, and acts as a liaison to the information security department.

· Conducts related ongoing compliance monitoring activities in coordination with the organization’s other compliance and operational assessment functions.

· Conducts and coordinates regulatory and internal audits as needed.

· Interprets and keeps abreast of new rules and regulations.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements/Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

· 3-5+ years’ experience in Healthcare Compliance and Privacy field.

· Knowledge of federal and state compliance regulations and topics pertaining to both Corporate Compliance and HIPAA required.

· Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) preferred

· Solid experience working with a HIPAA privacy program preferably in a healthcare provider setting.

· Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, handle multiple priorities with shifting time frames, and meet deadlines. A self-starter with a high degree of initiative, urgency, and attention to detail.

· Experience working with cross functional teams to identify and implement solutions to complex or nuanced issues.

· Team player who is able to collaborate effectively, ready to contribute to a positive and highly productive work environment and willing to assist teammates in achieving department goals.

· Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt easily to a fast-paced, dynamic, growing environment.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent customer service skills, and ability to effectively present information to various levels of company personnel.

· High level of attention to detail.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times with exposure to job related sensitive information.
