Manager, Global Medical Education, Nursing, Specific Responsibilities Include

The Manager, Global Medical Education, Nursing will be responsible for supporting the development and advancement of Operation Smile’s organizational nursing educational strategy, while supporting the development, provision, and monitoring of active nursing education programs.

The Manager, Global Medical Education, Nursing will serve as the technical lead and resource point of contact for OSI staff and country teams to implement and improve nursing education programs. The coordinator will ensure that Operation Smile’s programs are evidence based, adapted to low-resource settings, aligned with internal strategic initiatives, and continuously evaluated for effectiveness and impact. Key objectives for this role are outlined below.

Program Management

  • Develop, maintain, continuously improve and monitor the implementation of global perioperative nursing education.
  • Monitor and evaluate these nursing education programs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, international nursing professional organizations and NGOs to select, validate and disseminate teaching resources authored and maintained by global expert consensus bodies and augment such resources to provide the latest guidance in nursing care for individuals born with cleft lip and palate.
  • Work with regional representatives to adapt and implement nursing education programs at the hub and spoke level.
  • Support the development of nursing education program activity work plans at the organization and country level to meet organizational goals

Requirements

Experience Required:

  • Preferred 4 years of experience working within health systems and at the population level in LMIC’s.?
  • Training as a nurse with practice in the peri-operative, OR or intensive care setting.
  • Advanced project management experience and associated skills
  • Experience with coordinating projects and supporting teams.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of foreign languages preferred. Spanish preferred.
  • Able to participate in international travel of up to 20% time.
