WHAT WE’LL NEED

The Manager, Global Consumer Insights will play a critical role in Wingstop’s strategic growth agenda for both our International and Domestic teams. This role will be responsible for bringing consumer insights to the organization through both primary and secondary data sources. This person will be an essential cross-functional partner who is able to utilize research resources to answer essential business questions and play a pivotal role in our international expansion efforts.


In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must possess strong research, analytical, and communication skills. Extensive experience designing and executing both quantitative and qualitative research studies, internationally and domestically, is required. The person in this role should have the ability to weave multiple data forms into actionable insights, and to communicate those insights in a straightforward yet compelling manner. Exceptional team, cross-functional, and partner leadership skills are essential.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic recommendations and guiding expansion efforts as Wingstop builds its global presence
  • Owning go-to-market consumer POV for International expansion
  • Working directly with global Regional Vice Presidents to consult on existing and expanding market strategies
  • Managing all International research, including new market assessments, positioning/marketing strategy, taste tests, and brand health tracking
  • Partnering closely with cross-functional partners on key strategic projects that could include creative campaign development and testing, customer segmentation efforts, and macro-economic trend tracking
  • Acting as an insights leader, including identifying areas where insights are needed, engaging appropriate insights resources, and socializing learnings throughout the organization
  • Providing actionable insights across a variety of data sources, including custom marketing research projects, ongoing tracker/customer experience databases, secondary syndicated data sources, and point-of-sale data
  • Managing key initiatives/projects from beginning-to-end, including project planning, day-to-day project management, and influencing/leveraging internal cross-functional teams as well as external agency teams
  • Partnering with and managing external marketing research vendors and data suppliers as needed to address key business issues
  • Utilizing DIY research platforms when needed for quick and efficient research projects
  • Knowing and understanding the Wingstop business from all angles, including its competitive advantages and challenges
  • Other duties as assigned




WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Consumer Behavior, Business Analytics, or another related field required
  • Minimum of 5+ years professional related experience, ideally with 2+ years in the foodservice or restaurant category
  • Strong working knowledge of a wide array of marketing research methods, platforms, and applications
  • Experience working in a global capacity and demonstrated experience executing research and developing insights in international markets
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize multiple data sources to produce succinct reports and narratives
  • Deep understanding of and extensive experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. A demonstrated ability to design, implement, execute, analyze, and report all types of insights projects from brand health tracking to focus groups to concept testing to food sensory testing and more.
  • Market research experience on both the client side and the agency/vendor side is a strong plus
  • Experience working with brand health tracking metrics and vendors to track key metrics such as brand awareness and consideration over time.
  • Must exhibit critical thinking, curiosity, and willingness to experiment and try new solutions
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be willing to engage with senior team members, cross-functional teams, agency partners, and franchisee partners
