Manager, Flag Football (Global Growth & Strategy)

This role will be a critical member of the Flag integrated team, which is responsible for coordinating across the League and 32 clubs to accelerate flag football growth in the U.S. and globally. The Manager will report to and work closely with the VP, Head of Flag Football to drive strategic planning, project management, and integration across the League, 32 clubs, and key partners.

This is a key role for the Flag integrated team: this person will act as a trusted advisor to the VP, Head of Flag Football and is expected to operate independently to drive multiple key initiatives, including collaborating directly with leaders across the league functions including Football Operations, International, Marketing, Media, Club Business Development, Major Events and Corporate Strategy. This is a high priority role with significant opportunities for exposure to senior NFL leaders including the EVP of Football Operations, EVP of International, Events, and Club Business Development, EVP of Marketing, and EVP of Media Distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic planning and project management for key flag football initiatives, spanning youth participation, high school and college opportunities, Olympics, and international growth
  • Lead weekly meetings with cross-functional stakeholders across the League, clubs, and external partners, driving agendas and outcomes
  • Scope and conduct research and analysis, including market research, competitive analysis, surveying, and financial modeling; structure work for and collaborate with peers and junior team members as needed
  • Collaborate with VP/Head of Flag Football, Football Strategy and Business Development, Football Develpment, Marketing/Consumer Insights, and other departments to manage dashboards, reporting, and budgets
  • Manage relationships with key ecosystem partners, including vendors, consultants, and agencies. Drive efforts to continually grow and strengthen flag football ecosystem, including identifying and activating new partners and opportunities
  • Support VP with developing integrated, cross organizational strategy, planning for all facets of the flag football priority, and ensuring alignment with NFL’s long-range planning

Required Qualifications

  • B.A/B.S. or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience, with a focus on sports, management consulting, strategy, integrated marketing or a similar field
  • Proven experience driving and influencing complex, cross-organizational internal teams, as well as external stakeholders. Experience working with marketing, media, and events teams a plus
  • Outstanding project management skills, with a focus on detail orientation
  • Knowledge of the NFL / football ecosystem or youth sports a plus
  • Exceptional PowerPoint, Excel, and modeling skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, discretion, and sound judgment

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics

  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and regions
  • Highly organized and ability to multitask efficiently, even in high-pressure environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of flag football and/or passion for accessibility, inclusion, and equity in sports highly preferred
  • Experience with high school or college sports sanctioning a plus
  • Direct people management experience preferred

  • Ability to attend and work key Flag events and meetings

Travel

  • Travel 15%

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role may often require hours on nights and/or weekends as well

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$85,000 — $110,000 USD
