Position Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for assisting and collaborating with the EHS Director and EHS team in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable federal (EPA, OSHA, DOT, NRC), state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations.

$90,000 - $100,000 per year
Position Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for assisting and collaborating with the EHS Director and EHS team in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with all applicable federal (EPA, OSHA, DOT, NRC), state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities: Including but not limited to:
- Assist and collaborate with the EHS Director and EHS team to develop and conduct training that is aligned to the CPC EHS Management System.
- Partner and collaborate with the EHS Director and EHS team in developing, planning, and managing EHS programs, policies, and the CPC EHS Management system.
- Manage and develop direct reports.
- Support as needed any Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) program development and deployment.
- Recommend and implement corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist.
- Provide necessary reports as directed by the EHS Director.
- Keep informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate the ordering and inventory of medical, safety, and emergency response related equipment/supplies for CPC locations.
- Promote communication programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of incident and fire prevention, industrial hygiene, chemical handling and environmental compliance and other programs.
- Lead Incident investigations and analysis, Guarding assessment and oversight, Lockout procedure compliance and Risk assessment and management.
- May handle hazardous waste during routine removal from the site and/or during routine EHS inspections of accumulation areas.
- Assist in on-going coordination with departments across CPC to ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
- Partner with the EHS Director with regulatory groups, first responders, community groups and contractors including, OSHA, EPA, local fire departments.
- Assist in updating SDS databases.
- Perform and train others in weekly inspections of hazardous waste areas, including disposing of hazardous waste. Set up lab packs of spent chemicals as required. Oversee that daily, weekly, monthly checks of different areas within facility are being conducted.
- Coordinate Adult CPR with AED and Standard First Aid to the ERT and other employees as needed.
- Make presentations to employees and other groups on EHS topics.
- Responsible for compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to safety policies and for leading by example with the proper attitude toward safety and health, helping to ensure that all department operations are performed with the utmost regard for the safety and health for all personnel.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a working knowledge of general environmental, health and safety.
- 5 years’ experience in a EHS or related position.
- Experience in manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
- Experience in an industry with regulatory requirements and high-quality standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; multitask, detailed-oriented, and organized.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Associate Safety Professionals (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred but not required.
- Required to use arms, hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate computer controls.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, or walk for prolonged periods. The employee may lift, move and or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Required to be present in the office to provide immediate administrative and project coordination support to direct reports, and collaborate with in-house departments, peers, and supervisors.
- Work/Travel schedule must be adhered to and/or changed as needed to meet business requirements.
- Regular, ongoing travel throughout geographic areas on a continual basis as normal scope of role.
- Work environment in production operations facilities include close proximity to heavy machinery and pharmaceutical powders (dust), with loud noises.
May supervise non-union employees.
