Manager, Email Marketing - - Remote

Job Summary

We are seeking a Manager of Email Marketing to join our growing team! This role can be fulfilled remotely or in a hybrid role. Ideal candidates will be located in Nashville, TN.

The Manager of Email Marketing will lead and develop a robust email program strategy using Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. This role focuses on developing email communications/paths to engage consumers across the full lifecycle from prospect to paid user. A successful candidate will have expertise in audience segmentation, email marketing, performance tracking and optimization, and marketing automation platforms. Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) is required.

This high-visibility role requires close collaboration with Product Marketing, Sales, IT, agency partners, and other stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strategic, analytical, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to manage email initiatives independently under general guidance.

Reporting to: Sr. Director, Marketing Aesthetics & Operations

Location/Territory: Hybrid from the Nashville, TN area; remote from other locations

Responsibilities/Essential Duties

Translate business ideas into multi-touch customer journeys and high-impact communication programs.

Create personalized communications with expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget), including but not limited to, Email Studio, Journey Builder, Audience Builder, Content Builder, Mobile Studio, and Web Studio.

Maintain an organized information architecture across your projects, campaigns, naming conventions, etc., to ensure proper performance tracking.

Utilize HTML/CSS skills to autonomously define and develop email templates and automations that are customizable and scalable.

Create and implement nurture journeys through the Engagement Studio program.

Define, implement, and execute campaigns based on agreed-upon requirements with Marketing leadership.

Write SQL queries and AMP Script logic to implement business requirements.

Develop a rigorous testing strategy for email marketing campaigns, including subject lines, dynamic content, layout, and targeting.

Create complex segmentation (inclusion, exclusion, targeting, hygiene), define automation rules, evaluate gaps, and suggest operational efficiencies.

Act as the subject matter expert on email and marketing automation and work cross-functionally with stakeholders to proactively suggest process and system improvements to drive more value from our solutions.

Anticipate and troubleshoot issues related to the systems you own, work collaboratively to implement, and document solutions.

Maintain effective lead scoring models that move prospects through the lifecycle of MCL, MEL, MQL, SAL, SQL based on behavioral, account, and persona-based data.

Define reporting on email KPIs including testing, overall performance, and the contribution to MQL and Opportunity creation.

Thoroughly understand how to use UTMs for tracking marketing performance.

Assist the Marketing Analyst in reporting on the effectiveness of lead scoring, engagement studios, email testing, and performance.

Exhibit professionalism and accountability in all aspects of the role.

Make informed decisions based on available data and situational awareness.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree; OR

Master's degree & 2 years of directly related experience; OR

Bachelor's degree & 4 years of directly related experience; OR

Associate's degree & 8 years of directly related experience; OR

High school diploma / GED & 9 years of directly related experience; AND

1 year of managerial experience directly related to managing people, projects, programs, or resources

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, MIS, or equivalent relevant experience.

5+ years of experience as a manager of Email / CRM Marketing, Marketing Automation, Demand Gen, Lifecycle Marketing, or a similar role in B2B, healthcare, or retail industries.

5+ years of hands-on experience with Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) and Salesforce; Pardot experience is a plus.

SFMC-certified is a plus.

Expert knowledge in HTML/CSS email coding & design of responsive emails.

Experience with SMS processes.

Knowledgeable about email and SMS best practices, including accessibility, CAN-SPAM Act, and other compliance regulations.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes, including pivot tables, conditional formatting, and formulas such as VLOOKUP.

Understanding of lead routing from a multi-channel marketing approach.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational behavior and ability to manage time effectively.

Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously while navigating changing priorities.

Resourceful problem solver with a positive attitude, even under pressure and with conflicting priorities.
