Manager - Digital Architecture and Cloud Solutions
The Manager - Digital Architecture and Cloud Solutions will be a “working manager” – providing hands-on digital architecture, cloud, and on-premises systems and network engineering leadership and implementation in support of day-to-day operations and initiatives. This role will both lead and also roll up his/her sleeves to implement and support a variety of activities including, but not limited to: overall technology architecture and infrastructure, cloud solutions and platforms, system administration/maintenance, software and systems deployment, technology process improvement, supporting incident response, optimizing system and platform performance, and meeting business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews, hires, and develops teammates in the Digital Architecture and Cloud Solutions group.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of the Digital Architecture and Cloud Solutions group.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a skilled team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to ensure the effective delivery of Digital Architecture and Cloud Solutions services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end consistency in IT operations and seamless integration with various business functions.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts, providing insights on technological advancements and recommending initiatives to support organizational goals.
- Effectively allocate resources, manage budgets, and optimize our digital footprint to ensure cost-effectiveness and support organizational growth.
- Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure the security, availability, reliability, and scalability of networks and systems, recommending action plans for short and long-term needs.
- Ensure IT systems comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, implementing and enforcing data governance policies for data integrity and compliance.
- In partnership with the Information Security team, develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring organizational resilience in the face of disruptions.
- Use technology to accomplish strategic objectives, cultivating a culture of responsibility, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate strategies, initiatives, and security performance to leadership and stakeholders, defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for Digital Architecture and Cloud Solutions.
- Contribute to enterprise design and implementation for cloud and on-premises infrastructure across following domains: network, security, data, containers, compute, operating systems, storage, application enablement, and migration.
- Provide hands-on support for any system issues/problems by working with other department members, consultants, vendors, or other deemed necessary to address an assigned incident or problem.
- Create additional automation by scripting repetitive tasks.
- Manage and supports Active Directory (Directory Services, DFS, DNS, GPO)
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and/or consultants, ensuring effective partnerships and leveraging external expertise to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Adhere to all IT policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT security policies, procedures, processes, and protocols.
- Configure and maintains reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Install and upgrades computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
- Work to resolve issues, install equipment, or move existing equipment to best suit the needs of the local department or management.
- Install new hardware or software and provide training on its use.
- Deploy, support, and monitor new and existing services, platforms, and applications.
- Assist employees in learning to use company owned software and hardware systems.
- Work as a “team player” with all company departments and employees in all assignments. Work toward building consensus on all assignments by finding solutions that meet the best interests of all parties involved.
- Participate in or conduct lessons learned sessions with department members during and after each project and share this knowledge with the full department.
- Conduct best practices review within the department and use to continually improve the work processes.

- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of information security principles (e.g. access control, least privilege, zero trust, data protection, security architecture, infrastructure/application security design principles, policies) and privacy (e.g. GDPR).
- Working knowledge of server virtualization technologies.
- Ability to work overtime as needed and respond to calls during off hours.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and associated networking programs and protocols (DNS, DHCP, SSL, TLS, SNMP, HTTP, etc.).
- Thorough knowledge of network topologies and their connectivity issues (Ethernet, switches, hubs, patch panels, Wi-Fi, etc.).
- Technical knowledge and experience with the following:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Intune and/or SCCM / MEM (Microsoft End-Point Manager)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2019+
- VMware
- Backup/Disaster Recovery solutions (Rubrik preferred)
Education and Experience:
- Computer Science, MIS, technology degree, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a technical environment maintaining Microsoft technologies and servers in on-prem, hybrid and cloud environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of managing people, specifically network and/or system engineering resources.
