Position Summary

The Manager, Category Development is a customer-facing and customer-influencing role responsible for for developing data-driven insights using various data sources to influence replenishment and improve forecast accuracy with customer teams and collaborating closely with the Commercial team as well as Energizer Supply Chain teams to manage the projects and analytics needed to identify opportunities to drive growth and efficiencies internally and with our external retailers.


Responsibilities

  • Direct account responsibility-regular ongoing customer face-to-face interaction
  • Analysis and decision making–lead assessment, analysis, & insight generation covering category and supply chain topics
  • Leverage an understanding of the market, category, competitive trends, and activities is key to being successful in this role.
  • Set standards and goals that will result in achieving and exceeding Energizer and the Customer’s business plans
  • Partner with customer teams on development of customer specific strategies, programs, and priorities necessary to drive business results, as well as be an active contributor in consensus & forecasting process
  • Analyze large quantities of data to help the Supply Chain Team, Demand Planners, and Sales Team make decisions that drive value and identify inventory issues both internally and at the customer
  • Own customer category management analytics, leveraging syndicated and customer POS systems and POG execution
  • Analyze customer/channel specific data (tied to the 4P’s) and use to deliver actionable selling insights back to the Sales organization to drive profitable revenue and forecast accuracy
  • Key point of contact with customer’s Replenishment & Supply Chain Teams for all store and DC replenishment issues, strategies, and initiatives to provide analytical support to deliver service levels, forecast accuracy, fine reduction, and customer KPIs
  • Oversee Energizer inventory and service level/in-stock position to ensure smooth flow of merchandise into and out of DCs, stores and online
  • May perform additional duties as assigned


What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Organization Effectiveness or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years customer-facing Sales and/or Category Management experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including presenting, influencing, and building relationships
  • Experienced using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Power Point, PowerBI)
  • Nielsen/IRI
  • MBA, preferred
  • Experience with JDA preferred
  • 3-5 years of category management experience preferred
  • 2-3 years customer or sales experience preferred
  • Leadership of sales or category team within CPG industry at traditional retailers preferred
