Manager, Cash Operations

The Manager, Cash Operations is responsible for managing the processing and depositing of billions of dollars of coin and currency on an annual basis. This role performs ongoing analysis of cash processing activities to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies through cost reduction and vendor performance management. The role relies heavily on the individual’s ability to provide accurate analysis, data entry, reconciliation, and vendor management as a part of a small, dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide account management for coin and currency processing vendors.
  • Identify, drive, and implement opportunities for continual improvement to operational processes and expenses.
  • Maintain a high level of communication and service levels for all stakeholders.
  • Monitor activity to help ensure that vendors deliver all expected key performance indicators (KPIs) established in the statement of work (SOW).
  • Research and reconcile coin and currency deposits and variances and manage claims with processing vendors.
  • Manage unprocessed coin, unprocessed currency, and inventory balances.
  • Review and approve invoices.
  • Provide training for coin and currency processing vendors, as needed.
  • Assist with development of, and execution to, the approved annual budget.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting RFPs and work with vendors in negotiating rates and service terms and conditions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all processing vendors, to include, the Federal Reserve Bank, Financial Institutions, and the U.S. Mint.
  • Lead and manage a small staff

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years’ related experience in Operations and Vendor Management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of contract and vendor management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical skills to interpret trends, identify root causes, form conclusions and/or recommendations.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience with cash inventory monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to navigate and collaborate with cross functional teams and third-party vendors effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop goals, metrics, and service level requirements, and hold vendors accountable to them.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software including Access.
  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized software applications, including but not limited to Tableau.

Location & Travel Expectations

  • Our corporate headquarters is in Bellevue, WA (Seattle area) but remote/work from home arrangements are welcome as many peer team members are remote today.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Pay & Benefits

The typical starting salary range for this position is between $94,988 - $128,543. For Washington State or jurisdictions that require the publication of the entire scale or range, the entire range is between $ 94,988 and $ 165,862. Coinstar utilizes geographically based pay ranges, within the United States, which allows us to pay competitively and consistently based on location. Within the range for the applicable geographic area, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share the salary range specific to your location. Short-Term and Long-Term bonus incentives are a part of the total compensation package and are based on Company and Individual performance.

Physical Requirements

This work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer to use a keyboard, mouse and telephone, regularly communicating and exchanging information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically, operating a computer and other office equipment and occasionally moving about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. where exerting negligible, up to 10 lbs. of force to move objects. Upon occasion, while at vendor locations, this position may exert up to 30 lbs of force, to handle coin in bags, coin bins, cash cassettes, etc. The environment of vendors may entail loud heavy machinery.
