Manager, Business Intelligence

Medline Industries, LP is the leading nationwide supplier of medical, surgical and pharmaceutical products to hospitals, nursing homes, HME providers, surgery centers, physician offices and home care/hospice settings. Due to continued growth, we are in need of a Manager, Business Intelligence. The Manager, Business Intelligence will collaborate with a team of BI analysts responsible for delivering business intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions. The Manager, Business Intelligence will collaborate cross-functionally to design, develop, and implement appropriate analytics solutions. The Manager, Business Intelligence will monitor department KPIs and implement solutions to improve the quality and reporting of data.

  • THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION REQUIRING TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS IN OFFICE AT OUR CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS IN NORTHFIELD IL


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Finance leadership team to develop and implement BI solutions.
  • Manage the design and development of dashboards that monitor key performance indicators and drive business decisions.
  • Act as liaison between BI and Medline Finance (Sales & Ops) functional areas to ensure clear communication and proper execution of business requirements.
  • Drive process improvements through the management of BI tools, reporting, and visualization capabilities.
  • Develop deep-dive analytical project work in partnership with Finance leadership to inform strategy or uncover new insights.
  • Ensure that the use of business intelligence applications enhance business decision making capabilities.
  • Remain up to date with BI trends, including new technology and data visualizations techniques.
  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
  • Work with stakeholders to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues
  • Management responsibilities include:
  • Typically oversees professional employees/teams OR typically manages non-professional employees through Supervisors in manufacturing, distribution or office environments
  • Day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
  • May have limited budgetary responsibility and usually contributes to budgetary impact;
  • Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops.
  • Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies.
  • Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning.
  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence or/and analytics
  • At least 5 years of dashboard development experience, Tableau or other similar technology
  • At least 5 years of experience levering SQL for data analysis and performance tuning
  • At least 5 years of experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Business or Marketing
  • Experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing them as they work.
  • Experience working with databases and big data
  • Profieciency in Tableau and SQL
  • Experience in Python/Pandas
  • Understanding of database structure, design, and optimization
