Position Purpose:

The Manager, Asset Reconditioning is a key role leading the TEL off-lease class 8 tractor and trailer equipment inspections and customer damage summary teams. This supervisory position is the bridge between our customers, leasing divisions and reconditioning divisions that manages the overall process from start to finish ensuring world class service and support.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations within the equipment inspection, repair order creation and invoicing of work performed at TEL Reconditioning Centers.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly reconditioned to meet the TEL standards.
  • Prepare and update documents and reports as needed; this may include reconciling final invoices with repair orders, creation of repair orders, manage data in Salesforce system.
  • Audit equipment turn in inspections verses contract return conditions to validate needed repairs.
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communicate with TEL Equipment Sales regularly to ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to in the reconditioning process.
  • Ensure accurate documentation on repair orders is completed and made available to Equipment Sales and Leasing Divisions.
  • Oversee the prompt and accurate billing of customers and final accounting packages.
  • Track the lifecycle of equipment reconditioning to ensure costs are in line and total time meets expectations, this may include providing weekly Recon repair status and reporting to management team.
  • Maintain exceptional communication between departments to develop inter-department synergy.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with members of the recon and offer coaching to achieve mission objectives.
  • Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Hold team accountable for high quality work.
  • Monitor and manage special projects as required.
  • Help manage photo and marketing process to meet TEL standards.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BA/BS in related field preferred, or a combination of years of experience and education.
  • 10+ years of experience working with multiple locations and supervision of 10+ subordinates.
  • Deep knowledge of parts and service operations in a class 8 repair facility.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build and motivate teams.
  • Strong Microsoft application skills and ability to adapt to platforms like SalesForce, Karmak, DOMO.
  • Ability to hire, manage, train, and terminate personnel as required to meet goals .
  • Positive, high-energy personality with a desire to work hard to accomplish goals.
  • Networking internally and externally to manage and solve problems.
  • Well organized, proactive, results-oriented individual able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong experience with used truck values and condition standards.
  • Team oriented and able to take direction and effectively manage with minimal supervision.
