About The Position
The Manager, K-12 Assessments will support the implementation of KIPP’s nationwide K-12 assessment strategy across our network of 27 regions. The ideal candidate values the critical role assessments play in academically excellent schools and understands the impact of assessments such as DIBELS 8, ACT and SAT, and curricular assessments, have on the trajectory of students' lives. This person believes all students can engage in rigorous learning and achieve at high levels. This role will be tasked with the mission-critical work of ensuring we have consistent, aligned, and impactful implementation of summative and formative assessments across the 27 KIPP regions. The Manager is part of a K-12 Assessment team of three and will work closely with other KIPP Foundation teams to deliver on their goals.

It is preferred, but not mandatory for this role to be based out of a KIPP Foundation office. This role also has the option of working from a remote office full-time. KIPP Foundation offices are in NYC and Chicago.
Compensation And Benefits
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, and relevant experience. The salary range for this position is $80,000-$95,000. About The Position

Responsibilities
Assessment Products Management
- Build error-free assessments in and share them via our network-wide assessment platform on time. As needed, make mid-year updates to assessments.
- Provide user support and training on our recommended assessment platforms. The selected candidate will be given training and is not required to know the platforms before being hired for the position. Once trained, the candidate must demonstrate content knowledge about how the product is leveraged, what reports to use for different stakeholders, and how and why regions and KIPP Foundation use the product.
- Provide training to both internal and external users on all assessment platforms, as needed.
- Inform the continued development of KIPP Public Schools’ assessments and related products through gathering user feedback and use data and providing analysis along with research-based recommendations.
- Understand and support collecting and analyzing data from assessments.
- Support with the piloting of new assessment products and analyzing pilot data to inform decisions.
- Track usage of and participation on certain assessments and assessment products in KIPP regions.
- Partner with the Data & Analytics Team to ensure key stakeholders understand assessment content, design, and data.
- Support the sharing and use of data with the Schools Team.

- Assessment Expertise: Possesses a deep understanding of K-12 assessments. Experience as an assessment coordinator and administrator, utilizing assessments as an instructional tool and using assessment data to set goals and progress monitor.
- Achievement Orientation: Ensures clarity in goals and accountabilities while working with agility and creativity to drive. toward deadlines and outcomes-focused metrics; sets goals with the belief that all students deserve access to and can be successful with rigorous academic coursework, such as Advanced Placement; highly skilled at data analysis and using assessment data as a tool for instruction, goal setting, and progress monitoring.
- Critical Thinking, Continuous Learning, and Strong Judgement: Ability to problem solve, navigate, and lead through complexity; effectively leverages data effectively for strategic decision-making and driving continuous improvement (CI); Has demonstrated success with leading communities of practice and utilizing CI principles to improve outcomes in schools; ability to systematically provide and accept feedback with diverse groups of people to ensure strong outcomes and continual learning; can make courageous yet necessary decisions in the interest of students and families with experience working with and in the interests of communities of color.
- Stakeholder Management and Influence to Impact: Has the interpersonal, diplomatic, relationship building, and communications skills necessary to develop successful working relationships with diverse constituents, including regional principals and senior leaders; ability to engage and drive senior leadership and key stakeholders toward target outcomes without direct authority; can effectively share complex information and translate for end users; responds promptly to concerns and ensures that stakeholders are aware of actions that are being taken and explains the rationale for decisions and/or outcomes to the stakeholder.
- Process & Project Management: Can effectively manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders to deadlines while balancing multiple short- and long-term projects; highly organized and disciplined and can take an innovative approach to translating strategy into priorities and project plans, even in unstructured spaces; continually applies strong attention to detail in the execution and follow through of all projects; constantly looks for ways to improve and to scale learning quickly.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A passion for assessment as a lever for rigorous high-quality rigorous instruction, equity, and access for all students
- Must have 2+ years of assessment coordination and administration experience with proven results, ideally K-12
- Project management experience; is adept at leading multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
- Experience with data analysis and using assessment data as a tool for instruction, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Record of results in collaborating across teams and with principals and senior leaders, including use of accountability structures

In addition, KIPP Foundation provides a variety of benefits to employees, including:
- 25 holidays for + 18 days additional flexible PTO days (flexible PTO increases to 23 days for years 3 and 4 and to 28 days for years 5+).
