The Manager of Advocacy and Government Relations will be responsible for managing work with lay leaders, community leaders and network partners to expand UJA’s external relations and advocacy efforts. This position will be responsible for managing and organizing mission days, launching our “key contact” program to connect young lay leaders with local elected officials, supporting our lay advisory and managing large-scale events and programs. Administering advocacy engagement including petitions and other broad outreach.
Major Responsibilities
Responsible for working on public advocacy/ lobbying campaigns. This includes working with lay leaders and liaising with marketing, UJA’s network partners, lobbyists, and other relevant stakeholders.
Work on our new mobilization advocacy software.
Proactively plan and coordinate events and programs with our elected officials.
Help work with the Government Relations Council.
Engage lay leaders in advocacy efforts and various programing.

Qualifications And Competencies
Familiarity with New York State and New York City Government
Minimum of 5 years of related practical experience in the field
Excellent writing skills
Highly developed research and planning experience
Strong relationship building and communication skills
Bachelor's degree required.
Salary Information
The salary for this role is $110,000-$115,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
