Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance and repairs to all machinery, equipment and buildings.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

3rd Shift - 11pm-7am Monday-Friday

Overtime Required

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant work maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree of relevance is a plus.

Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Essential Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, fabrication and troubleshooting repairs;
  • Operates and understands all equipment necessary for completing of assigned tasks;
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging, and processing equipment;
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees – notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production;
  • Installs and tests all new equipment and auxiliary equipment;
  • Determines causes of errors by troubleshooting;
  • Records data (service on equipment, labor hours);
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service;
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards;
  • Analyzes data and performs mathematical calculations.

Additional Position Responsibilities

  • Follows all safety protocols, including Lock Out~Tag Out, Hot Work Permits, and Safe Electrical practices on all equipment when repairing;
  • Effectively manages time and meets deadlines;
  • Effectively communicates project status;
  • Readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations;
  • Improves job knowledge by attending training and keeping relevant knowledge and skills current;
  • Responsible for reporting unsafe conditions;
  • Ensure good housekeeping in area where working;
  • Demonstrates organizational skills by working independently and with a team;
  • Contributes to organization success by meeting team and company goals;
  • Follows all quality system and safety protocols by safely operating equipment, wearing proper protective equipment (PPE), completing safety training, keeping work areas clean and organized, and contributing to established safety goals;
  • Contributes and assists in implementation of ideas for continuous improvement.
