Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Expert Staffing West is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician

Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 2:30pm.

The role involves managing preventative maintenance and repairs for the facility, equipment, and machinery. This includes promptly identifying and fixing any malfunctions to ensure uninterrupted productivity. The technician should have experience with plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the condition of facilities, equipment, and machinery, making necessary repairs.
• Contribute to the creation and upkeep of a preventative maintenance program, which includes:
• Maintaining existing production equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues.
• Addressing safety hazards to prevent injuries.
• Supporting ventilation and other systems, conducting repairs, or coordinating with external vendors.
• Adhering to the established maintenance budget.
• Ensuring the functionality of heating and plumbing systems.
• Responding to urgent breakdowns, possibly requiring after-hours work.
• Performing pest control activities such as spraying insecticide.
• Conducting routine maintenance, such as repairing windows, doors, or walls.
• Fixing plumbing leaks to prevent water damage and restore functionality.
• Repairing damaged electrical wiring.
• Maintaining light HVAC equipment to ensure proper climate control.
• Applying preventative measures to reduce the risk of future issues, such as sealing flat roofs.
  
  

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Certifications are not mandatory but can demonstrate a candidate’s capability.
• A strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Physical stamina to handle a full shift of active work.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems, with experience in multi-craft maintenance.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work individually and in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Use a Scissor lift
• Climb ladder over 30ft+
• Basic electrical knowledge assists with high voltage situation
