Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for completing work orders and other required tasks at our Jefferson Hills (PA) facility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion.
• Estimate time and extent of repairs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on buildings, machinery, and other equipment.
• Maintain material and supply inventory.
• Maintain grounds according to seasonal demands such as grass-cutting & trimming during warm months and snow-removal & spreading rock salt in the winter.
• Oversee work performed by outside contractors, as necessary.
• Assist co-workers in other areas of the facility as needed and when available to do so.
• Perform other duties and tasks as required by management. This includes being on-call during off-shift hours when needed.
  
  

Qualifications & Competency Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance or a related field is a must; 3+ years’ experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools, electric tools, gas-powered equipment, and other maintenance type tools & equipment.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Able to handle a physical workload including, but not limited to:
• Lifting, carrying, moving, and transporting objects of up to 50 lbs.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Climbing ladders and working from a scissors lift.
• Safety-first mentality, including always wearing proper PPE, maintaining a clean work area, and addressing and communicating any potential hazards to the Facilities Director.
• Deadline and detail oriented.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are critical for interacting and working with others.
• Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently while requiring little supervision.
• Basic computer skills, especially email correspondence, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel are necessary to be effective in this role.
• Available to work a Monday - Friday, daylight schedule but willing and able to work outside regular shift including overtime when circumstances occur and require it.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
  
  

This is a Non-exempt, hourly position.
