Major Function And Scope
- Develops curriculum and classes to equip maintenance new hires with the foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform at a high level.
- Teaching subjects of the Training program to maintenance peers, both class and in the field.
- Gather expertise inside the company and externally if needed to create the course material exactly to the needs of the plant.
- Collaborate with departmental and maintenance leadership to tie classroom training and on the job training together with defined learning outcomes.
- Deliver customized and additional training to new hires and current maintenance team members as needs are identified.
- Review monthly metrics with maintenance teams to identify issues rooted in skills gaps and create plans to address in the training programs.
- Build relationships with external stakeholders to stay up to date on the lates training materials and technology.
- Benchmark other training programs and implement best practices to stay on the cutting edge of maintenance skills training.
- Create metrics and report outs to identify trainee and program success.
- Evaluate employee survey data, job market conditions, industry trends, and competitor data together with HR department and adjust training department strategies as required.
- Other duties as required.
- Associate’s degree in the fields of mechanical, electrical, or automation required
- Advanced degree in the fields of mechanical, electrical, or automation preferred
- 3-5yrs minimum experience creating, instructing, and managing technical training programs
- Expert skills in operating within the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Experience working with modern course creating software solutions (Flowsparks or other e-learning tools)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in one of the following fields: Mechanics, Electrics, Automation (Related to Manufacturing)
- Ability to interpret and oral and written instructions, policies, guidelines, and processing standards. Excellent oral, written, presentation, interpersonal communication, and team facilitation skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees including senior management and internal and external customers.
- Ability to present information accurately and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret, adapt known methods, system procedures, or operating concepts to new situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to teach and transfer knowledge to members of the business.
