Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not intended to be an all inclusive list.

  • Ensures team members maintain compliance with all site and company Health, Safety and Environmental (HES) rules, policies and procedures. Functions as a champion for safety, addressing issues promptly and professionally while holding team members accountable for safety performance.
  • Monitors and directs maintenance work activities, providing continual field support to craft personnel, frequently engaging and interacting with team members at direct work locations to ensure work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that job/work areas are maintained and/or returned in a neat and orderly condition..
  • Participates in and performs pre-execution job walk downs with appropriate personnel monitors safe and efficient performance of job tasks, provides on-the-spot feedback and follow-up, and ensures all safety and maintenance work processes are followed.
  • Executes maintenance tasks, assists in the establishment of priorities, sequences work activities and ensures post-work documentation and clean up is performed in a timely manner. Coordinates maintenance activities with other departments and personnel as necessary to maximize operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, within budget and according to customer needs.
  • Performs post-work job-site review to ensure the job site is left in an acceptable condition. Responsible for overseeing the material and cleanliness condition of maintenance zones of responsibility and coordinating with team members and the Maintenance Manager to propose and oversee zone improvements.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with other departments and personnel as necessary to maximize operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, within budget and according to customer needs.
  • Works with appropriate resources to maintain compliance with appropriate federal, State and local HES regulations, reports and notifies appropriate plant personnel of any deviations per established standards.
  • Participate in and/or perform incident investigations as requi or directed, including reporting incidents to appropriate personnel, completing required documentation, recommending and implementing corrective actions, and communicating findings as appropriate.
  • Trains and coaches personnel in efficient work procedures, safe work practices, and good housekeeping practices. Coaches and encourages development and growth of skills and abilities.
  • Champions on-going review and update of maintenance procedures, providing training and direction to ensure successful implementation of new and/or revised procedures. Documents training for all maintenance craft personnel per plant policies.
  • Assists in evaluating the efficiency of work procedures, manpower and equipment utilization and cost control measures. Makes recommendations and implements actions to improve efficiency. Helps track and analyze maintenance data.
  • Assists in monitoring critical part stocking levels, suggesting changes and enhancements as appropriate.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of the maintenance budget and annual investment (capital) plan
  • Administers the maintenance craft scheduling process (including overtime process) as dictated by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), ensuring proper staffing of maintenance personnel within requirements established by contract and as directed by plant leadership.
  • Coordinates the inspection machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Assists with and provides input in the maintenance and update of PM and PdM programs.
  • Conduct regular crew and safety meetings and pre-job/pre-work safety reviews to establish effective communication among crew both on shift and between shifts.
  • Works effectively with employees within areas of responsibility, consulting with HR, Department Manager, or other parties as necessary
  • Monitors, reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify or determine causes of nonconformity or operating/production problems, recommending and implementing corrective actions
  • Performs management of services contract of subcontractors as required, according to cost, quality, safety and pre-set deadlines in the contract
