As part of our team, you will lead all maintenance planning efforts for the Greens Creek Mine Site, ensuring maximum cost benefit while minimizing production interruptions. You will have the opportunity to work on various engineering projects such as optimizing mobile maintenance equipment, enhancing electrical systems, and improving fixed maintenance systems. You will be involved in implementing innovative strategies for efficient maintenance planning. You will oversee the coordination of our Centralized Maintenance Department, taking charge of mobile maintenance, electrical, and the fixed maintenance planning processes. The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing approximately 500 people. Here’s What You Can Expect In This Role
Training first. Your journey starts with a dedicated focus on safety. Within the first 4 days, you'll undergo MSHA training, ensuring a solid foundation in safety protocols. Department-level training follows, not just covering basic tasks but emphasizing safety practices as well.
You’ll offer your technical expertise and guidance to support the team in maintaining and optimizing equipment reliability. Your role involves establishing and upholding Maintenance Planning and Reliability standards in alignment with the site's business plan.
You will spearhead weekly planning meetings, collaborating with maintenance and operations teams. Your responsibility includes updating the CMMS, managing work orders, and ensuring planned schedules are accurate, contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.
You will organize external service provider visits for condition monitoring and maintenance services not achievable with on-site resources.
You will regularly review the spares holding policy for maintenance spares and consumables, adjusting purchasing and inventory control settings to reduce reliance on airfreight.
You’ll collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to establish tracking and reporting systems for KPIs, facilitating quick analysis of maintenance, breakdowns, costs, and operating performance.
You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices throughout the organization.
