Summary

Job Description

Install and repair production and building equipment special purpose machines; water, air and gas lines, piping and tubing. Inspect equipment for proper lubrication and perform other preventative maintenance duties as required. Operate machine tools; perform welding and sheet metal operations as required. Enter information into computer to copy program from one electronic component to another. Performs scheduled & non-scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and systems. Daily uses fasteners, electrical wire, motors, pumps, drive assemblies, and purchased machine parts. Routinely uses pressure gages, micrometers, machinist hand tools, ampere probes, digital multimeters, digital counters, welding equipment, machine tools (mill, lathe, drill press, etc.) and computers following detailed instructions.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a variety of test instruments and hand tools
• Ability to solve problems with limited guidance
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic principles
• Highly disciplined, problem-solver, logical thinking, troubleshooting team player with a strong work ethic
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge is preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent (GED) and 5 years of related experience in general industry; or associate's degree with a technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry
  
  

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services, maximizing production time and minimizing down time
• Participate in a regularly scheduled preventive maintenance program
• Perform root cause analysis, as needed, to increase serviceability and reliability of equipment to increase performance
• Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communications with employees
• Minimize project labor, material and part expenses while allowing a successful outcome
• Act as a technical resource to equipment operators and participate materially in equipment troubleshooting. Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
• Complete assigned projects as scheduled and within budget
• Ensure successful testing of equipment to ensure proper operation after repairs
• Using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), you receive work orders, identify faulty equipment, and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs
• Works with maintenance support and stock room personnel to ensure all parts transactions are properly documented
• Follows all OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration), NFPA (National fire Protection Agency), NEC (National Electrical Code) and plant procedures, and provide feedback when updates or changes need to be made.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
