The Maintenance Technician Lead is responsible for ensuring the completion of all tasks necessary to maintain production equipment and facilities in a manufacturing facility.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with directing and overseeing the task of designated maintenance team members.
Troubleshoot scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs on production equipment, conveyors, assembly equipment and palletizers.
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Requirements
A minimum of five (5) years industrial maintenance experience.
Familiar with electrical and mechanical systems including PLC, Drives, PC, Industrial control systems, and mechanical components
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and ladder logic
Required to respond to off-hours problems and over-the-phone troubleshooting
Ability to organize, plan and lead projects involving in-plant technicians and contract labor
Experience maintaining building systems including compressors, pumps, HVAC, closed loop chiller systems, plant communications and fire control systems
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to read safety, quality, and manufacturing instructions
Possess the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure.
Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to effectively coordinate and monitor a team
Ability to work independently in a fast pace, constant changing environment
Strong sense of urgency
