Long-term Contract (With Potential for Conversion)
Onsite in Kansas City, MO
Our Engineering client is looking for a Mail Clerk who will be responsible for general activities and tasks to execute the operations of the mailroom. The Mail Clerk responsibilities and duties help to keep the day-to-day office logistics running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and deliver mail to include regular mail, packages, and boxes. Employees also will need to scan mail stops on each run. Unload and store received items.
- Package & prepare shipping labels and shipments through various ground and express delivery companies.
- Maintain employee-owner mail recipient list and mailbox locations.
- Maintains clean and organized mailroom area.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Internal Courier for Mail Services
- Morning run to the post office to pick mail (Daily)
- Hourly runs to pick up and deliver items from each mailroom/building.
- Additional runs to deliver hot items. (As needed)
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Office services experience in a corporate facility or other applicable experience (Preferred)
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to develop effective interpersonal and working relationships.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under stressful conditions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to lift and move various size and weight packages (up to 50 pounds). Additional heavy lifting may be done with a team member or back brace support.
- Must be able to walk and move frequently throughout the mail room and various buildings by moving on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for mail delivery route.
- Must be customer service orientated and have a friendly demeanor.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Must be able to meet daily deadlines.
- Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
