Summary
Manage and coordinates activities of workers and outside resources engaged in maintenance of the facility, equipment, rigging and installation of equipment as it relates to machine down time, preventive maintenance schedule and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Schedule and direct workers in repair equipment.
Must be able to repair equipment
Track, document and report down time of equipment during management review meetings to support TS-16949.
Track, schedule and report preventive maintenance during management review meetings to support TS-16949.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Recommends usage and training to improve condition of equipment performance, and quality of product.
Assign work load, appraise work performance of all maintenance.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving maintenance problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities of individual departments so maintenance work can be done to minimize production requirements.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Work with Production Manager and Production Scheduler to keep key equipment running and schedule maintenance work based on their machining schedule.
Schedules personnel in your department on all three shifts as to the maintenance requirements.
Keeps Production Manager and Production Scheduler informed of any machine problems.
Gather data from the maintenance request log book or verbally
Complete employee evaluations on all personnel working in maintenance.
Fill out maintenance requisitions and order as needed.
Maintain a neat orderly area of all maintenance supplies which includes but not limited to; maintenance area within the wire fence, area above tool crib, welding area, storage racks of maintenance suppliers and areas throughout the shop while working on equipment.
Schedule training of employees by working through plant manager
Maintains chain of command, all day to day problems or concerns of employees within your area must be routed thru you then to the Production Manager, then the Office Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises all maintenance employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and suggesting discipline for employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Maintaining good housekeeping in their own work area and enforcing good housekeeping in the department they supervise.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have knowledge and the ability to use all types of maintenance support equipment
Must have knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematic drawings.
Must be able to read part prints.
Must be able to trouble shoot mechanical and electrical problems.
Other Skills And Abilities
Must be able to set-up and operate all machines under their supervision. Must be able to use company maintenance software. must have acceptable phone and language usage.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Valid Drivers Licenses
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involved throughout daily activities.

- Maintain inventory of replacement parts, machine lubricants, cutting fluids and misc. chemicals used for production and maintenance purposes.
- Develop working relationships with vendors and suppliers to obtain supplies in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Update MSDS for Chemicals and Products purchased through the Maintenance Department
- Maintain Equipment and machine manual library.
- Develope and maintain Procedures and parts lists for repairing machines.
- Update and keep current the MDC Equipment Asset list.
