Machine Operator/General Labor

As a part of this role, you will be responsible for helping the press saw operator with various tasks. You will need to load materials onto the saw, organize the processed materials, and pack them according to the specific requirements of the customer. This job requires high attention to detail and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

General Description

This position is responsible for supporting the operator in loading, organizing, and packaging of process material to customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work closely with operator to ensure proper packaging and placement of products
  • Visually inspect products to customer specifications, looking for any imperfections including scratches, dents, bows, and twists
  • Contact maintenance personnel immediately if there are issues pertaining to the performance of the saw operation, blades, forklift operation, crane operation, etc
  • Assist with clean up procedures
  • Complete documentation as required
  • Follow all safety requirements
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
  • Cross-train, learn and support other functions or processes as required

Required Skills

  • Ability to read a tape measure and any other instruments required
  • Ability to complete accurate documentation and work on computers
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, working safely
  • Flexible to work overtime or change shifts are required

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Exposure to all types of temperatures
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, bending, lifting and reaching overhead
  • Physical strength sufficient to move parts and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Sufficient manual dexterity required to perform job properly
  • High degree of care required to operate in a safe manner
  • Appropriate safety equipment is necessary
  • Overtime hours may be required
  • Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week
  • There may be regular exposure to mild discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts and bright lights. Typically located in a warehouse setting
