As an important member of the AI team, this person will contribute significantly to designing, implementing, and deploying AI/ML predictive applications to improve care delivery and quality for post-acute patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full end-to-end machine learning development process including data ingestion and preparation, feature engineering, analysis and modeling, model deployment, performance tracking and documentation
  • Process data of multiple types (vitals, labs, medications, medical codes, notes) and incorporate into predictive models to improve accuracy
  • Develop evaluation processes that ensure accuracy, fairness, reproducibility, and scalability
  • Work with software engineers to incorporate predictive models into the EHR system
  • Incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams and refine the ML models through quick iteration cycles

  • Experience working with various health data types (time series, low-frequency labs, medications, notes, medical codes)
  • Strong experience building models using ‘classical’ ML algorithms (XGBoost, CatBoost, Random Forest, LightGBM) and neural network architectures (LSTM, GRU, transformers, language models)
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Good understanding of the full ML system development, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle
