Position Summary

The licensed vocational nurse is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse with the coordination of patient care through data collection, planning, implementation and review of patients assigned to him/her for a specified time period. A staff LVN functions under the direction of a RN. Provides care for infant (0-28 days of age), pediatric (<14 years of age), maternal child (adolescent/adults), and adult (>14 years of age and older) populations.

  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
  • Provision of Direct Patient Care.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of one-year hospital experience, preferred.


Education

  • Graduate of accredited of school of License Vocational Nursing.


Licenses

  • Current California Vocational Nurse license, required.


Certification

  • Current BLS certification, required upon hire; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
  • NVCI Required for BHU and ED within 30 days of hire.


Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
