We are hiring an onsite Logistics Manager who will oversee and optimize all aspects of our inventory and logistics operations, and manage the onsite production operation. You will play a critical role in maintaining the highest levels of quality and compliance needed to serve our customers.
This position reports to the Head of Quality and Logistics and is a Full-Time, Hourly position and requires the Logistics Manager to work in the office Monday through Friday for 8-hours each day. The Logistics Manager must be in the office by 9:00 AM EST. Overtime is not expected and is only permitted with prior approval from the Head of Quality and Logistics or CEO.
Role Responsibilities
Production Process
Oversee the production process to ensure headsets are assembled and shipped in a timely way, meeting all quality standards and requirements.
Manage a team of 2 direct reports.
Continuously update quality procedures to match Virtual Field’s production process and monitor the process to ensure that the quality procedures are followed.
Look for improvements to the production process and organization of the office.
Oversee the production team on a day to day basis, set goals and priorities for the day.
Escalate issues to the Head of Quality and Logistics.
Take on long term projects that improve the production process, quality management, or team performance of our logistics department.
Extract, query, and understand data generated by our production process and use that data to make assembly, storage, and production process improvements
Track time to ship and optimize that metric in a safe and effective way
Assemble devices and accessories as needed
Perform QA checks on devices or accessories as needed
Recycle used headsets as needed
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory records and implement inventory control procedures to minimize overstock or shortage of supplies.
Conduct weekly inventory audits and reconcile any discrepancies.
Optimize inventory and storage efficiency.
Conduct data analysis on inventory levels, lead time and more
CAPA/NC/Complaints
Review non-conformances (NCs) to ensure they have the correct disposition
Open CAPAs for any single severe NC/complaints.
Determine what containment activities need to be performed for the CAPA.
Assist with CAPA root cause investigation as needed.
Determine/review corrective actions/preventive actions. Implement the actions or work with the team to complete the actions.
Monitor CAPA for effectiveness.
Track CAPA status weekly to ensure we’re on time with completing CAPAs.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for our devices.
Implement and maintain a quality assurance process for handling, storing and shipping products.
Document Updates
Review documentation as needed to make sure it meets our document control requirements.
Complete SOP/FORM updates to reflect new processes.
Complete change control form and gather approval signatures.
Required Skills, Experience & Education:
2+ years experience in logistics, quality, or supply chain.
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift and carry light equipment (<15lbs).
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.
Strong communication skills.
