Logistics Coordinator

Offshore Express is a leading Freight Forwarder servicing Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. We handle both the Ocean Transportaion and Final Mile delivery for many top retailers across the US. We primarily focus on furniture, exercise equipment and other oversized commodities.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and manage logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.

- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.

- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.

- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly.

- Optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

- Manage and oversee the performance of third-party logistics providers (3PL) a

- Implement and maintain systems for tracking and reporting key logistics metrics.

- Coordinate with dispatching teams to schedule deliveries and pickups.

- Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Logistic Coordinator or similar role in the transportation or logistics industry.

- Strong knowledge of logistics processes, including dispatching, warehouse management, vendor management, and inventory control.

- Proficient in using logistics software systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and analyze data.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.

- Knowledge of profit loss analysis and cost optimization strategies.

- Familiarity with demand planning techniques to forecast inventory needs accurately.

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

We would assign you a retail account and you would handle managing all aspects of that account excluding the accounting. Compensation is based on experience.
