Summary of the Position

Position manages the centralized loan and/or loan services department to ensure smooth daily operations and maintenance of consistent centralized workflow. Functions include document preparation, payment processing, boarding loans & change in terms on the main core system, incoming and outgoing participation payments, review of Title policies, respond to demand request, payment and draw processing, general ledger balancing, monthly certifications, collateral custody and daily reports. Prepare loan procedures. Generally, this position would require eight or more years of experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly knowledgeable and able to perform all duties of the Loan Operations Department, including boarding new loans and draws, prepared required ticklers and ledgers according to the predetermined policies and procedures and in accordance to Fair Lending, CRA and related compliance regulations.
  • Regularly exercises discretionary and independent judgment to prepare and accept loan documents and accept loan payments of all types, loan payoffs and collateral releases.
  • Ensures that proper procedures and controls are being followed in the Loan Department by means of review and audit of Notes, Ledgers, and Reports.
  • Has ability to research and answer procedural questions pertaining to all aspects of the Loan Operations Department.
  • Has ability to make rather complex corrections and/or adjustments to commercial loans accounting as needed and within defined.
  • In coordination with loan officers, prepares, and oversees loan document preparation, assists client with the execution of loan documents and answers basic questions concerning loan documents.
  • May be required to provide supervisory oversight to subordinates in the Loan Operations Department.
  • Completing the annual Regulatory Compliance training is required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of eight years’ extensive Loan Documentation and/or Loan Operations Department experience.
  • Advance knowledge of computers and computer software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and excel.
  • Has the ability to train and supervise subordinate staff members,
  • Comprehend, and perform moderately complex calculations, solve problems and answer questions to a variety of situations for both staff and customer.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, read, analyze, and interpret many different types of communication.
  • Leadership skills to inspire an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork among peers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledgeable with bank’s boarding loan codes
  • Can meet deadlines and plan and prioritize their own work and the work of others.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • On the job experience.

Compensation

  • Base salary commensurate with experience and standard employee benefits package

Work Environment

  • Office environment requires sitting and/or standing for one or more continuous hours, some travel within the bank footprint for client appointments, bank meetings, and community events.
