The Encompass practice group of Nelson Mullins law firm (an AmLaw 100 law firm) seeks a Litigation Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the litigation support field to work based out of our Columbia, South Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina, Nashville, Tennessee, or Atlanta, Georgia office locations.
Responsible for the project management, database management and litigation support functions in a fast-paced and highly technical environment. Individual will have oversight and coordination of all projects as assigned, while ensuring that support will be provided to any team in need of assistance and tasks and functions are performed effectively and in a timely manner. May also be responsible for special projects.
Serves as an advisor and/or consultant to attorneys and their clients regarding automation and data needs, meeting with attorneys and clients as necessary to analyze case needs and determine appropriate case technology plans
Prepares recommendations and project plans for acquiring and implementing recommended solutions
Day-to-day technical management of client data from a data tracking perspective between platforms as well as loading into review databases and running productions post-attorney review
Set up attorney review processes from a technical perspective while coordinating with the case project manager and attorney teams
Defines business and technical requirements for specific case matters and then develops and/or coordinates the development of specialized databases or programs
Assists with preparing manuals and instruction materials for training personnel in litigation tools and processes and provides training when appropriate, especially with vendor-provided tools
Diagnoses and corrects system and network problems related to litigation services tools and serve as a technical liaison to appropriate vendors
Works with members of other technology groups at firm to resolve technical problems that may arise
Handles multiple projects and priorities for deadline-driven
Operates as a timekeeper in a timekeeping environment
Travels as needed
Seeking experience with Relativity and/or other e-discovery and litigation support platforms.
Knowledge of other technologies and utilities such as text file editors, SFTP clients, encryption software, data conversion tools, etc.
Knowledge with standard concepts, practices and procedures within an e-discovery team or IT department is highly desired.
Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree
