Litigation Counsel

We have partnered with a growing financing & leasing institution on an exciting In-House Litigation opportunity. As an Associate Counsel, this individual will be directly responsible for supporting all general litigation matters (with a focus on breach of contract claims & other commercial matters). In addition to serving as an excellent chance to join an active in-house legal team, this role presents an opportunity to work directly alongside the General Counsel and gain first-hand experience in other areas of corporate law.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the entire litigation process from the initial filing of complaints to final judgments.
• Collaborating closely with internal restructuring and accounting departments to prepare litigation matters effectively.
• Direct & oversee external counsel in handling out-of-state legal matters, such as collateral recovery and enforcing judgments.
• Offer legal advice and analysis to business executives regarding the status and strategic approach to both Massachusetts and out-of-state litigation matters.

Qualifications:

• JD and an active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• At least 1 year of relevant litigation experience.
• Prior bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, or similar workout experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure in a dynamic and fluid environment.
• This position sits on-site 4-to-5 days a week in Beverly, Massachusetts.
