You Are

UST is searching for an LIS Beaker PM with some guidance from Specialist I, manage end-to-end client Product Implementations for clients, by leveraging own technical expertise derived from multiple product implementations completed for multiple domains.

The Opportunity

  • Delegate tasks and coordinate deliverables across internal teams as required to meet project requirements. Coordinate with managers, clients and team members to set expectations, deliverables, and objectives.
  • Initiate and facilitate client meetings as needed to advance project goals for data integration solutions. Review the project status of deliverables, issues and milestones with leadership. Proactively advise senior leaders of obstacles and impediments to maintaining schedules and milestones.
  • Develop the testing of integration solutions (including data validation) across multiple teams. Schedule and facilitate status, build and testing meetings, and other activities as required.
  • Lead the development of written testing plans, test cases and test reports. Lead the integration and functional testing between designated systems and the Epic EHR to identify, isolate, and document defects found during testing. Participate in data file manipulation, staging, testing, and validation activities.
  • Lead the development of current and new workflow processes with high levels of complexity and broad scope. Functions as a resource to resolve systems analysis and testing issues. Work to resolve both operational and technical challenges, as well as interpersonal and/or team performance issues in regard to development of solutions.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, directing work to other Epic application team members. Create status reports, facilitate decisions, identify and mitigate risks. Collect and interpret requirements from multiple stakeholder teams, measure and present program results to clinical and operations leaders, and manage evolving technical requirements.
  • Oversee and assist in workflow design, build, testing, and validation for Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Medical Genetics, Blood Bank and Send-outs.
  • Design and implement complex workflows for submitters, paper and electronic results routing, and incoming orders and outgoing results interfaces. Direct project team through Beaker charging design, build, testing, and go-live.
  • Oversee and manage all integrated areas including End User Devices with Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR), Users and Security, Charging, Reporting, Conversions, and Cutover.
  • Ensure that target system data is complete and usable to meet operational needs in the form of reports, and dashboards to allow laboratory management to provide oversight.
  • Troubleshoots complex issues of broad scope with clinical software, hardware, operating systems and/or distributed clinical information systems. Identifies and coordinates service and support as needed between clinical engineering, IT, networks, departments and outside vendors. Provide subject matter expertise to team as needed.
  • Work closely with EMR integration staff to ensure to these teams meet deadlines, provide status updates, and escalate issues.
  • Manage the resolution of outstanding issues before and after project go-live events.
  • Maintain, publish and disseminate technical reference manual and other system solutions documentation.
  • The individual may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Weekly status reports.
  • Project documentation on significant efforts (project plans, overall project documentation).
  • Workflow Visio diagrams and documentation staff assigned tasks/responsibilities.
  • Communications plan and materials for SFDPH internal communications

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

  • 7 years of Epic project management and application experience
  • Epic Beaker application certification, AP or CP, have current NVTs.
  • Familiarity with EHR data models and reporting tools Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Clarity, and Caboodle (Cogito).
  • Familiarity of all phases of clinical application implementation are required including discovery, validation, workflow and process design, application build, application testing, integrated testing, end-user training, go-live, optimization, maintenance, and upgrade.
  • Project management experience in a multi-organizational healthcare organization implementing projects of high complexity.
  • Desirable experience, knowledge and skills may include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • 10+ years of Epic EHR implementation experience
  • Strong PM in a healthcare setting. Laboratory operations background strongly preferred.
  • Three years of Beaker PM experience.
  • Experience in a clinical operations role [i.e. clinic manager, registered nurse, etc.]
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Power BI for status reports, Excel, and other project management tools.
  • Experience with Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology modules.
  • Communication experience for strategic and tactical deployments
  • Experience with Epic integrated projects

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range: $86,000-$128,000

Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
