Lighting Design is a strategic initiative within Visual Comfort allowing us to engage our customers in a more meaningful way, especially within the residential architectural lighting category. As a Lighting Designer, you will assist clients, the Business Development team, and other sales team members in layout and specification of residential architectural lighting to drive sales of Visual Comfort & Co brand products.

Responsibilities

Produce accurate, efficient, and creative residential lighting plans within AutoCAD utilizing Visual Comfort & Co brand productsExecute lighting design plans within Visual Comfort standards, ensuring consistency and quality of work both in design and deliverablesParticipate/lead product and design presentations to Builders, Designers and ArchitectsUtilize product knowledge and lighting design skill to collaborate with Business Development and showrooms across all markets to convert new and develop existing Visual Comfort customersBe an available resource to Visual Comfort team members seeking product knowledge and technical expertiseMeet/exceed architectural lighting sales goals through lighting design effortsTravel for project design meetings and site visits in the showroom trade area marketsMeet established project deadlinesRequirements:

Bachelor's degree in Interior design, Lighting Design, or Architecture required5+ years of project based residential lighting design experience requiredExperience must include creation of lighting plans, lighting schedules, and lighting specification packagesProficient computer skills utilizing AutoCAD, Acrobat and Excel. Experience with Dialux or AGI32 not required, but helpfulProject management experienceDomestic architectural lighting acumen, acute knowledge of residential dimming protocols and basic wiring.Keen eye for design and creativityStrong grasp of residential lighting trendsKnowledge of residential construction processes and a deft understanding of construction documentsCritical thinking, superior organization, planning skills, time management and prioritization with the ability to multi-task and thrive under pressure in a dynamic, multi-location team environmentExcellent communication skills, possess the ability to clearly articulate design and technical information to clients and internal teamsExperience professionally presenting solutions to customersAbility to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and possess the ability to remain calm under pressureAbility to achieve results both independently and through collaborationStrong analytical skills with a consistent focus on results measurement and fact-based decision makingSales experience not required, but an advantageWe Provide:
