GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision of the Program Director, functions as the initial contact for all referrals for new foster care placement in accordance with contract compliance and/or acts as a liaison between foster care staff and foster parents by recruiting, certifying, and training foster parents.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports directly to the Team Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrative and not intended as inclusive; specific responsibilities may vary):

  • Recruits, accepts referrals for, and prescreens applicants to determine eligibility as foster parents.
  • Schedules and conducts pre-licensing training as required.
  • Identifies appropriate foster home for placements, ensuring compatibility of youth and foster home for licensing compliance.
  • Ensures foster home contract compliance in licensing foster homes.
  • Coordinates youth placement and completes all required reports/documentation/notifications, following such placement, within required timeframes.
  • Ensures accurate, professional, and timely completion and distribution of all required reports, filings, and statistical information.
  • Schedules, provides notice of, and facilitates required conferences/meetings within required timeframes.
  • May be required to provide case management of initial placements until assignment to a Case Manager.
  • May be required to initiate contact with birth family and conducts various follow-ups within recommended timeframes facilitating youth adjustment.
  • May be required to provide assistance to foster parents ensuring, where applicable, that youth has appropriate clothing for the placement, school enrollment, and medical and/or dental exam within required timeframes.
  • Provides quality services to foster families of the assigned Agency office.
  • Investigates complaints against foster families and continually assess ability of foster families to provide adequate care, and provides notification and recommendations to appropriate parties as required.
  • Maintains state compliance of existing foster homes and ensures completion of required documentation for initial licensing or license renewal.
  • Facilitates trainings for staff, foster parents, and others as necessary.
  • Maintains a flexible work schedule.
  • May represent Agency and child in judicial proceedings.
  • Performs other Agency-related duties as assigned.
