ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Nuclear Licensing Engineer to be a part of our client’s Licensing Team. This position reports to a Licensing Manager and provides licensing support for an advanced reactor project where you would be developing licensing documents and supporting regulatory engagements. Work will be in close consultation with Engineering staff and will ensure Licensing documents are created in accordance with our client’s licensing strategy and guidance. Supports preparation and interaction with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission including audits, preparing/reviewing application content, and preparing/reviewing topical reports.
Drafts, authors, and reviews licensing documents
Interface with the Licensing Team to complete licensing tasks
Coordinating with design personnel to ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements
Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and quality assurance standards
Interfacing with technical discipline teams
Preparing and reviewing technical material
Reviewing correspondence to and from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited, 4 year university or equivalent experience
1+ years demonstrated experience in nuclear licensing, quality assurance, project management, or equivalent experience in a highly regulated industry i.e. medical devices, aviation, etc.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe
Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
Self-Starter with ability to manage deadlines
Familiarity with US NRC 10 CFR regulations and guidance preferred
Familiarity with application of a risk-informed performance-based framework for licensing advanced reactors preferred
