THE ROLE
At Avantia Law, we pride ourselves on our top-tier legal services across the private markets industry. We are now expanding our expertise to include a dedicated practice focused on ISDA schedule negotiations, and we are looking for an entrepreneurial finance/ regulatory lawyer to lead this initiative.
This role is initially offered on a consultancy basis, with the expectation it will lead to a full W2 position in the future. We are flexible and are happy to consider options to suit the successful candidate.
Lead Avantia Law's new practice area dedicated to ISDA agreements
Negotiate, edit and review ISDA schedules and other ISDA documentation
Provide strategic advice and guidance on ISDA-related matters to our clients
Develop and implement best practices for managing ISDA documentation
Manage and deepen your client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to your clients
Work with other Avantia lawyers and paralegals, review the work of more junior team members and assist with training when required
Collaborate with leadership, growth and technology teams to strengthen and continuously improve Avantia's ISDA product

Requirements
Licensed to practice law in the United States with at least 5 years post qualification legal experience (gained either in-house or in private practice)
Extensive experience in negotiating ISDAs
Strong understanding of derivatives markets
Entreprenurial mindset
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills
Familiarity of working with asset managers, investment banks or other financial services firms
An interest in artificial intelligence and legal tech is very welcome!
