About the Job:
Timmins Harlan, PLLC, is seeking a Legal Assistant, who will be responsible for assisting attorneys and paralegals in all stages of civil litigation matters. The candidate should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment completing tasks such as assisting attorneys with time entry, maintaining firm calendar and electronic case files, document formatting, handling a variety of administrative duties, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate new matter openings, including conflict checks and draft engagement agreements.
Communicate with clients under attorney supervision
Draft and edit legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence for attorney review
Organize and maintain client and attorney files; perform document organization tasks
Coordinate appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and maintain attorney calendars
Handle telephone communications, message routing, and outgoing calls; manage mail
Assist in accounting documentation preparation and billing activities
Maintain and update the firm calendar with deadlines, hearings, etc.
Create shells of, proof, and format case related documents such as letters, notices, and discovery requests/responses
Complete a variety of ad-hoc requests
Experience and Qualifications:
Experience as Litigation Legal Assistant in a private firm preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
