Grant Herrmann Schwartz & Klinger LLP () has an opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Legal Assistant to join the law firm. The Legal Assistant position will coordinate and execute day-to-day legal support to assist others on the Legal Support Team as well as attorneys and partners in executing client work.
Estimated pay range:
$30-35/hour
Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our legal team in various practice areas. The ideal candidate will be able to learn and closely follow legal processes, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle a diverse range of responsibilities. Essential Functions:
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
Manage and organize case files and documents
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders
Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas
Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Languages: Fluent and professional Spanish and/or Portuguese speakers are preferred, but not required
Minimum Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
1-3 years in a similar position
Strong written and verbal communication, as well as strong research and time management skills
Ability to learn and work proficiently in legal research tools and software
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Highly organized and detail-oriented with good judgement and a solutions-focused approach to challenges
Works well under pressure with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while still adhering to strict deadlines
Exercises independent thinking and critically analyzes problems to come up with solutions
Aptitude for learning. Must be able to quickly understand new concepts and ideas and build on previous understanding
Flexible, collaborative team player, with a willingness to take on a variety of diverse projects
WORKPLACE LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires in-office work at the NYC office daily
