The Legal and Compliance Director ensures Medartis Inc. conducts its business in compliance with all laws and regulations that relate to the healthcare industry, in addition to professional, external, and internal standards according to accepted business practices. This position leads and manages all legal and ethical compliance processes at Medartis Inc. and is responsible for working in partnership with internal stakeholders and business partners as well as providing strategic direction on initiatives and processes that have compliance consequences.
Your Responsibilities
Establishing, developing and maintaining policies, trainings and procedures including but not limited to Antikickback Law, Sunshine Act, HIPPA, Advamed Code of Ethics, SOX, various forms of Harassment, Data Protection and Conflicts of Interest
Providing ongoing review of materials, policies, and plans in areas such as applicable regulations and standards, field sales and non-field sales training documentation and processes
Working with Company leadership to develop, monitor, and measure compliance goals and objectives
Ensuring critical business processes are compliant
Identifying compliance gaps and working with management in business critical processes to resolve them in line with best business practices
Conducting annual compliance audits/reviews of critical business processes and issuing reports which speak to the current state of Medartis Inc.’s compliance goals
Developing and leading the compliance investigation process and maintain a compliance incident reporting register
Monitoring changes to legislation to stay abreast and aware of changes and implementing them when necessary business-wide
Reviewing and drafting Contracts, assessing risk and flagging when necessary to protect the best interests of the Company
Coordinating lawsuits and legal strategies with external Lawyers and Law firms when necessary.
