APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
The Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese at Penn State (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor position in Spanish (non-tenure-track), to begin in Fall 2024.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory and intermediate language courses. Teaching load is eight hybrid courses per year or equivalent configuration.
Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish. A Master’s degree or higher in Spanish or related field is required by the appointment date. Rank is determined by education and qualifications. This is a term, 36-week appointment (two academic semesters), with possibility of renewal.
Interested candidates must submit an online application and should upload the following application materials: a letter of interest, CV or resume, and a list of three references with contact information. In their cover letter, applicants are encouraged to highlight any interests or experience with online teaching, study abroad programs, course design, and/or recruitment of majors and minors.
In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
