Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Learning Designer to lead the needs analysis & design of learning programs for our employees selling selected products. This role involves developing training video scripts, developing other training content such as e-courses, infographics, and knowledge articles directly in the LMS, as well as creating supportive content and reinforcement of training. The Learning Designer will ensure that all employees possess the necessary skills and behaviors to perform their jobs effectively and safely. Additionally, this role includes creating and managing the onboarding program and new employee orientation process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Needs Analysis: Perform comprehensive needs assessments to identify performance gaps and learning objectives. Develop strategies to address these needs.
  • Design and Develop Training Programs: Create and implement engaging and effective training programs across various delivery methods, including e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions.
  • Content Creation and Reinforcement: Develop supportive content and reinforcement materials to enhance learning retention and application on the job.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Use feedback and data to make continuous improvements.
  • Onboarding Program Management: Design and manage the onboarding program and new employee orientation process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business goals.
  • Safety Training: Develop and deliver training programs focused on ensuring employees perform their jobs safely.
  • Support Learning Management System (LMS) Administration: Assist in the management and maintenance of the LMS, ensuring content is up-to-date and accessible to learners.
  • Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end process of learning project management, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, developing both e-learning and traditional training programs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline & Rise, Adobe Captivate, Axonify), LMS platforms, and multimedia production software. Familiarity with graphic design software and video editing tools is a plus.
  • Instructional Design Expertise: Strong understanding of adult learning principles, ADDIE model, and Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model. Experience with gamification and microlearning strategies is desirable.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess training needs and evaluate program effectiveness using data-driven methods.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification: Professional certifications in instructional design or project management (e.g., CPLP, PMP) are a plus.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in retail or a similar industry is advantageous but not required.
  • Innovative Thinking: A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and develop unique learning experiences.
