POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for instructing and coaching ambassadors including Paid Trainees to ensure skills are gained to perform the functions of their position. Instructing and coaching will include demonstration and feedback of essential functions, organizational standards, and position competencies. Training and facilitation of Onboarding and Leader Step Classes, assisting in developing career pathway and operational curriculum. Performs operational duties as needed to develop the skills, talent, and potential of ambassadors.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Supports Paid Trainees from start of program through completion. Duties include preparing onboarding checklists, coaching leadership skills, verifying job skills through station checklists, monitoring progress towards applying for jobs, getting trainee ready for graduation, and assisting with graduation day tasks.
  • Meets with site managers prior to visiting with trainees to collaborate on training needs. Supports site management in the completion of Progress Notes to accurately reflect trainees’ progress Conducts formal assessments with manager to document progress of trainee.
  • Provides Learning & Development team with regular feedback on the progress of the trainee with their training plan and completion of the program. Feedback includes review of progress notes and other paperwork for the paid trainees.
  • Informs Learning & Development and/or Human Resources department of any sensitive information shared by ambassadors regarding their ability to meet expectations of the job.
  • Facilitates on-boarding program. Acts as point of contact for onboarding, coordinating details with Human Resources to support new hire.
  • Provides training and development support to ambassadors from different mission programs, as needed. Documents performance progress and communicates areas of opportunities.
  • Follows up on completion of Level 1 Leader trainings and provides support as needed.
  • Assists in the development of career pathway and operational training including the update and edits of checklists, eLearnings, and job aids. Gains proficiency in all operational procedures of departments involved in the paid training program.
  • Supports organizational initiatives.
  • Promotes, demonstrates, and role models the core values including professionalism, confidentially, interpersonal skills, and teamwork with all interactions with ambassadors, site management and other departments at all times. Provides excellent customer service to all ambassadors.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, efficient and neat work area. Safeguards company property and abides by all safety procedures.
  • Participates in department meetings as scheduled. Contributes to the goals of the Learning & Development Team to meet or exceed performance measures
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
  • Trains, coaches, and supports departments in their development of their ambassadors through the career pathway program, paid training program, onboarding, and other learning opportunities.
  • Assesses skill level of ambassadors and paid trainees to provide recommendations for training plans.
  • Coordinates and assists in the implementation of specialized training for ambassadors.
  • Assists in the design of curriculum with designated timeframe for online and classroom training. Coordinates with Learning and Development management to align objectives and goals to organizational purposes and branding standards.
  • Facilitates Career Pathway classes and other learning opportunities. Follow up with managers to ensure trainees receive the needed support after the completion of the class. Assist in the dissemination of learning opportunities to ambassadors.
  • Assists in the administration of the Learning Management System by assigning compliance trainings, tracking completions of Career Pathway Classes, uploading eLearnings, and other information as needed following up with participants, providing sign-in sheets, and other support as needed.
  • Provides support for organizational meetings such as supervisory meeting, organizational manager meetings, and paid training graduation.
  • Supports site management in reviewing the progress of new ambassadors on their onboarding training plan during the first 90 days of hire.
  • Supports Trainer I with their acclimation into the department including onboarding and ongoing training.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience Minimum of two to four years related experience plus experience includes coaching, training, facilitating and curriculum development.

Certificates & Licenses Must have car, valid CA Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to GISD's insurance company.
