The Learning and Curriculum Development Training Manager is a multi-faceted role managing the Institute, the centerpiece of product and technology education at Current. Ultimately, create a training environment for visitors that provides an interactive and engaging customer experience in conjunction with our channel partners increasing their technical knowledge of Current’s industry leading brands and portfolio of solutions. Primary responsibilities will include curriculum development, delivery of engaging technical presentations to a broad range of channel partners in a formal classroom environment and developing e-learning modules for Current Lighting's on-line learning management system. This role is part of the centralized marketing team aligning efforts with the overall Current marketing strategy and plan. They will collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, commercial sales, and product management teams to develop a robust plan for reaching targeted personas. Through industry insights and engagement this role will drive Current thought leadership through training and education. The Learning and Curriculum Development Training Manager will report to the Director of Channel Marketing and responsible for annual budget development and managing direct reports.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing the annual training strategy that includes budget development, and establishing clear KPIs to track and measure performance and ensure outcomes yield greater ROI.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the lighting industry, go to market channels and personas with ability to customize training methods and techniques that target specifiers, designers, architects, engineers, and contractors to name a few.
  • Curriculum development should be transformative and interactive elevating the customer experience across our key training platforms that includes new agent onboarding, VIP Experience, AIA Continuing Education and On-demand learning modules.
  • Ensure training is fully integrated into the marketing commercialization process to fuel new content across our key training platforms and marketing “what’s new” to our channel our partners to drive engagement.
  • Proper maintenance of training facilities and works in close collaboration with product management to ensure all new products and solutions are displayed and all product vignettes are current and up to date. In addition, maintains the company auditorium to ensure all audiovisual, lighting and controls equipment are fully operational for all corporate functions.
  • Monitors emerging trends and modern technology to ensure utilization of the latest training software that provides interactive and engaging training methods and improves the overall customer experience.
  • 25% travel includes training channel partners at our strategically located facilities, attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Periodically host guests after normal work hours for dinner and hospitality entertainment events.

This position is located at Current's Greenville, SC headquarters. This role requires 4 days a week in the office with 1 day remote.


Qualifications

  • BS degree in relevant field and 10+ years lighting related experience a plus; MBA preferred. Lighting Certification (LC) from NCQLP a plus
  • Sales and/or product management or product marketing experience in lighting and/or lighting controls preferred.
  • Project management experience managing multiple deadlines across a broad scope of projects.
  • Experiencing managing a robust calendar, schedule, and itinerary with numerous stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to share Current’s brand story and who we are as an organization and well-versed discussing product specification. When talking about product, ability to articulate a product's features, advantages, and benefits during a customer presentation.
  • Candidate must have polished verbal and non-verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical material in a large classroom environment.
  • Candidate must have the ability to create and deliver presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint as well as operate audio/video equipment to support training activities.
  • 25% travel to support remote training and industry events is required.
