Job Summary

Hiring on as a Production Support professional within Construction Support Services, with the possibility of a hybrid in-office/remote work schedule. This Lean Manager will support Flintco’s FX360 initiative as a project manager for business transformation projects, including coordination with IT and other departments. Anticipated travel is up to 50%. This position can be based out of any Flintco office in Austin, Denver, Houston, Memphis, Oklahoma City, Northwest Arkansas or Tulsa.

This Lean Manager role reports to the Sr. Lean Manager overseeing Flintco’s FX360 initiative.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead business transformation projects, ensuring effective design and transition of newly implemented processes, technologies, and services.
  • Independently facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen projects from definition through execution.
  • Develop and execute charters, action plans and project timelines with plans in place for long term sustainment of results.
  • Develop visual management and scoreboard system to communicate objectives and accomplishments to applicable areas.
  • Establish appropriate metrics and report on project progress, risks, and results. This includes executive-level reporting, management updates, and best practice sharing throughout the organization.
  • Build relationships and effectively collaborate with cross functional teams to accomplish targeted business process improvements.
  • Coordinate with IT on system implementation / enhancement related to business process improvements to ensure process automation tools and systems are effectively integrated and aligned with business needs and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, determine the best approach to process improvement, develop a project plan for implementing improvements, and monitor the new process to ensure it works as intended.
  • Facilitate change management, providing communication, fostering high engagement and collaboration across the business.
  • Ensure process changes are fully integrated through documentation, communication, perseverance, and consistency.
  • Drive accountability for team to successfully complete tasks.
  • Accurately track status of multiple projects and help management prioritize effort.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and problem-solving skills to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed, able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently and attend to details.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, project management skills, and the ability to identify trends and complete root cause analysis.
  • Ability to speak confidently in large groups and conduct effective presentations.
  • Competency in applying Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, A3s, 5S, PDCA, DMAIC, Root cause analysis and Data Visualization Management.
  • Passion for team and people development.
  • Ability to match technologic tools with organizational needs, guaranteeing smooth integration and minimal operation disruption.
  • Familiarity with managing projects that include process automation and process intelligence.
  • Previous Facilitator and Coaching experiences where problem solving, continuous improvement, process development and change management methods and tools have been used.
  • Passionate about leading change and improving company processes.

Education

4-year degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience using problem solving tools & methods to drive process improvement.
  • Experience with process modeling, data analysis and developing performance metrics.
  • 2+ years’ experience in group facilitation and implementing lean, value stream mapping, etc.
  • Experience managing multiple projects from planning through post-completion.

Special Job Dimensions

The office provides a safe and healthy work environment, is adequately heated and cooled, is free from exposure and extreme conditions, has appropriate lighting and office furnishings, and is smoke-free and drug-free. While performing the duties of this position in the fabrication shop, warehouse, maintenance shop or at a project site, the employee could be regularly exposed to any number of the following, including, but not limited to: moving mechanical parts; moving machinery; high, precarious places (including, but not limited to, being raised several hundred feet in a bucket); close tight quarters; rough and sloped terrain; fumes or airborne particles; drilling and blasting activities; welding activities; toxic or caustic chemicals; the potential of falling rock; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.

  • NOTE – Where allowed employees who work in positions classified as “safety-sensitive” can be disciplined if they test positive for marijuana or its metabolites, even if they have a valid state medical marijuana license. In addition, Flintco may also refuse to hire applicants for safety-sensitive jobs who test positive for marijuana as part of a pre-employment drug test, even if those applicants can produce a valid medical marijuana patient license.
