Emory Continuing Education (ECE) is currently seeking Instructors for the following areas:
Design Thinking/Growth Mindset/Innovation
Effective Listening
Leadership skills
Management skills
Managing Artificial Intelligence applications
Purpose
Instructors are subject matter experts who are responsible for delivering courses on behalf of Emory Continuing Education to the public and/or corporate clients. Instructors typically use the curriculum provided by ECE, but on occasion may use their own curriculum with prior review and approval. Instructors are responsible for delivering curriculum in a compelling, effective manner. They must create exceptional classroom experiences for students by being responsive and engaging. Instruction may take place in courses designed to be delivered face-to-face, webinar, online, or a combination (hybrid).
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare thoroughly using content provided.
Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and ability to engage students.
Create an inclusive, welcoming learning environment.
Keep the class on task by employing excellent classroom management strategies.
Serve as an industry/content expert while keeping the focus on the curriculum.
Address student questions throughout course and follow-up as needed.
Maintain course schedule in accordance with course materials and lesson plans.
Communicate with ECE staff as needed regarding scheduling, curriculum updates, recording/reporting, and evaluation feedback.
Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. Those with bachelor’s degree and/or advanced certifications will also be considered.
Currently working in, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, the respective field/content area.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated skills using PowerPoint.
Experience using video delivery (Zoom, Teams) desirable.
Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
Knowledge of adult learning and/or training principles highly desired.
