Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead a team of systems administrators and technical specialists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure.
    • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Strategic Planning and Architecture:
    • Develop and execute strategic plans for the organization's IT infrastructure, including server, network, storage, and virtualization environments.
    • Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure IT solutions to meet business requirements and support growth objectives.
  • System Administration and Optimization:
    • Oversee the administration and maintenance of servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
    • Implement best practices for system configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
  • Technical Support and Escalation:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues and provide advanced technical support to end-users and IT team members.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical problems, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Security Management and Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to protect IT systems, data, and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Vendor Management and Procurement:
    • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT systems, hardware, software, and services.
    • Evaluate and procure technology solutions and services, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure value and alignment with business needs.
  • Project Management and Implementation:
    • Lead IT projects and initiatives from conception to completion, including system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and optimizations.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee project execution to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, mentoring, and collaboration.
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional) are preferred.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of experience in system administration roles, with demonstrated leadership and management experience in complex IT environments.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in administering Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms.
    • Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, backup and recovery solutions, and scripting languages.
    • Experience with enterprise-level infrastructure components such as Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, and SAN/NAS storage systems.
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of IT professionals.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of successfully managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
