Responsibilities Of The Lead Patient Care Coordinator

About the Patient Care Coordinator Role

Upperline Health Georgia is seeking an energetic, compassionate, driven Patient Care Coordinator to assist our physicians in delivering complex health services in the clinic setting. This person will work out of our Tucker, GA Office. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for medical front desk receptionist duties including greeting patients in a friendly manner, and ensuring patients are accurately checked in and prepared for their appointments in a timely manner.

Lead Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical records/database, perform all registration functions and collect copays and balances due as appropriate
  • Schedule patients via office scheduling policies and confirm appointment times as well as educate patients on the impactful services of Village Podiatry.
  • Answer and screen in-bound calls, take messages, and provide appropriate information to patients as well as handling outgoing phone calls (e.g., appointment confirmations, referral calls, pre-certs, etc.)
  • Check and disseminate faxes daily
  • Assist with charge entry, and /or coding issues, and other related work if requested
  • Accurately and concisely document patient feedback and special needs to our clinicians to provide excellent care during each appointment
  • Explain and communicate Village Podiatry’s services in an informational, influential, concise, uplifting, and personable manner with outstanding etiquette
  • Manage daily on-time appointment schedules and effectively communicate this with physicians
  • Maintain office supply inventory, including checking, ordering, and stocking supplies
  • Support practices’ coordinated care approach when appropriate
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting with additional duties and when support is requested

Lead Patient Care Coordinator Qualifications

  • Previous experience handling patient interactions or assisting in a healthcare clinic or hospital setting
  • Knowledge and/or familiarity with medical billing and coding is highly preferred
  • Experience working in a podiatric or orthopedic practice is plus
  • An exceptional customer service orientation featuring empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interaction
  • Tenacious problem solver, with demonstrated capacity to embrace complex problems and arrive at effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Enjoys working in a team-based environment with active collaboration
  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written communication skills with success in providing notes, updates, and written communications via computer systems
  • Experience working in an EMR is preferred, athenahealth is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work history

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
