Lead Mechanical Engineer (HGA-H)

The Lead Mechanical Engineer is a direct-hire position working for HGA.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer (Owner's Representative), will play a pivotal role in representing our clients and safeguarding their interests throughout the project lifecycle. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will provide technical leadership in mechanical engineering, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and solutions. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will review and approve work performed by the Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC Contractor acting on behalf of the project’s owner (client). This role requires extensive leadership experience and a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Client Representation

  • Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical engineering and design matters, between our clients and our organization.
  • Understand clients' objectives and ensure that the mechanical design aligns with their goals and expectations.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for a contractor’s team of mechanical engineers to deliver projects that meet or exceed client requirements.

Mechanical System Design And Development

  • Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems and components tailored to meet clients' project needs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Project Management

  • Manage project mechanical engineering timelines, budgets, and resources effectively on behalf of our clients.
  • Monitor mechanical engineering and design progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Quality Assurance And Compliance

  • Ensure that mechanical engineering design is executed with the highest quality standards.
  • Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.

Construction Oversight

  • Provide technical oversight for mechanical construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering plans and specifications.
  • Address any construction-related issues and provide solutions.

Budget And Cost Control

  • Work closely with clients to manage project budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.

Documentation And Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including mechanical design records, reports, and correspondence.
  • Provide regular project status reports to clients.

Qualifications:Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in leading mechanical engineering projects; Owner’s Rep experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards and mechanical codes.
  • Professional Engineering license is a plus.
  • Candidates must be within daily commuting distance of Houston, TX.
