Lead Application Engineer

Pangea Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading energy company in North America, with over 45 years of experience, focusing on driving the transition to a carbon-neutral economy. Specializing in renewable energy solutions such as wind, solar, and energy storage, they have a robust portfolio that includes over 5 GW of grid-scale renewables. Their innovative approach helps customers reduce emissions and achieve renewable energy goals, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and provide engineering support for BESS projects.
• Develop and improve technical specifications for battery enclosures, storage inverters, auxiliary power equipment, and SCADA systems.
• Review PPAs specific to projects and create EPC technical exhibits.
• Support the construction and commissioning phases by resolving engineering issues.
• Oversee electrical engineering consultants to ensure designs are consistent, cost-effective, and delivered on time.
• Define engineering requirements for upcoming BESS projects.
• Offer technical support for PPA negotiations and contract execution for BESS.
• Supervise plant design engineering activities and coordinate with the Owner’s Engineer for technical reviews and submittals.

Candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in energy storage.
• Proficiency in battery technology, especially Lithium, for energy storage applications.
• Understanding of battery degradation and life cycle behavior
• Experience with utility-scale AC and DC coupled energy storage power plants.
• Ability to create, read, and interpret construction plans and specifications.
