To work as a team with other members of the laundry staff to maintain guest room linen, restaurant linen, employee uniforms, and guest laundry. The Laundry attendant is responsible for collecting and washing the used and dirty linens from guests, rooms and other parts of the hotels.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Attend daily meeting with Laundry Supervisor to go over tasks
Collect, wash, dry, and press all hotel and restaurant linens adhering to Sonnenalp standards
Assist Uniform Attendant with pressing of all uniforms as needed
Be aware of all chemicals used
Ensure laundry room is clean and organized daily
Assist employees with obtaining uniforms and laundry and dry cleaning
Count and collect the linens from different parts of the hotel and from guests
Wash, dry, iron and fold the collected linens
Deliver the same cloth collected from guest and from different department to the respective places respectively
Maintain a record of the inventory of cleaning products
Maintain cleanliness in all rooms and the entire given section of duty
Should respond to the request of the guests, supervisors and, management in an efficient and timely manner
Maintain hygiene of the working equipment and the laundry cart
Ensure that the equipment, keys and other supplies issued each day are not tampered with and are returned to the supervision in good condition
Inform any missing article from the guest room to the supervisor
Inform any damage or mechanical problems to the respective department and also the supervisor in-charge
Maintain a dress code and should always be neat and tide and in a presentable manner and should be guest friendly
Maintain time of reporting through Time & Labor Online
Follow other rules and regulation of the company
Other tasks as assigned
Education/Experience
Prior experience in laundry preferred, but not required
Must be minimum 16 years of age
Special Skills/Equipment
Previous laundry experience in an upscale, high occupancy hotel preferred
English and Spanish helpful
Able to work independently
Essential Physical Requirements
Work is primarily preformed indoors and can be warm.
Machinery must be used with caution
Must be able to stand for duration of shift
Schedule can vary.
Ability to carry up to 50 lbs of heavy linen
Frequent bending, stooping, pulling, reaching.
